While I was out today, I got stopped behind a school bus on a 6 lane road. And after surveying the situation, I decided that the bus driver and the father of the child were just passing time and whatever they were talking about was not as important as where I needed to go. And then I saw him.... the little boy who was being loaded down to the ground by the wheelchair ramp. He seemed to have a developmental disability (maybe cerebral palsy?). And he was the happiest person to see his dad. And his dad was so happy to see him as they were hi-fiving each other. And then his mother smiled, leaned down and gave him a huge kiss. And it touched my heart. It makes me wonder how many better things I have missed because of my impatience. Because truthfully, it was better to see how they loved each other today than to get to my destination a WHOLE 2 minutes earlier...

I know that God said that he would not flood the earth again, but does He consider Florida part of the earth? Because man oh man was it coming down today. Supposedly this is the start of the "rainy season". Yay...

And.... revenge of the ice cream and cake...on my waist line. Nevertheless, Breyers frozzen dairy dessert again today.

  1. I'm back! Yay! Okay - (I posted this on the WRONG one first - the "dad of the year" post. CAN YOU IMAGINE?!) - you know I would have been sobbing if I'd seen that. I love seeing how excited kids get when they see their parents. I feel like that is truly a gift from God, and it's a little sliver of the way it'll be for us, when we come face to face with our Creator in heaven. Word.

  2. Yay! thanks to google again to fix the glitch. Um yea, this would be TOTALLY inappropriate for dad of the year. WORD to your mother!, it WILL be great. And that IS how God sees us. Now if only we were like that....
