I should spend more time outside

Today was very very eventful! I made two new friends. One of which is a human and the other one is Lil Ricky, a baby bird. While outside today, I "randomly" noticed that something was moving in the bushes. Now if you know me, you know that I don't "notice" anything. So we'll say this one was divine. So as I'm looking at the bushes to see what's rustling because I've convinced myself that it's some invisible monster coming to get me (like you can see an invisible monster?...) I saw poor Lil Ricky. His foot was caught in a tiny tiny branch and he was dangling upside down because of it. So because I'm super lazy (and also super resourceful- it's a byproduct of being lazy), I text messaged the roomie to come outside and free the bird (also because I DON'T do well in these situations). And the roomie did a great job amidst mine and Lil Ricky's squealing and freed him by pulling his leg off the branch. Unfortunately, his poor leg was damaged and he just sat there; us not being sure if he would make it much longer. It made me think, from a spiritual standpoint: 1) it's amazing the smallest things that entangle and cripple us.... and 2)we end up needing Someone bigger and stronger than us to free us.

I prayed for Lil Ricky not to die. Mainly because I feel "crippled" in life right now and I'm hoping that after spending all my time "upside down", there's hope that it will all work out. Maybe I'll be a little wounded, but alright.

The last we saw of Lil Ricky was him hopping over to the bushes. So hopefully he's safe now...

B&J peanut brittle and the last of my angel lush concoction.
